The title describes the action. Oct. 1 1999
By Karen Potts - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I have read every book in this series, but this is my favorite. We are treated to the usual ambiance of Martha's Vineyard (Craig really makes me want to go there!) with fishing trips followed by gourmet blue-fish and crab dinners, but this also includes some real suspense and action with our hero being pursued by a mysterious bad guy. If you want to be convinced to read the rest of the series, read this one first!

An excellent read July 18 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Yes it is out of print, but look for it in used bookstores. In fact look for the whole series. These are very good light reading. The characters are good and the stories keep you interested. I no longer fish, but I enjoy reading about these characters who do love fishing, cooking, nude sunbathing, and other island type lifestyles. I don't think a lifestyle of this type would be for everyone, and I know it's not for me, I enjoy air conditioning, television, and the middle of the country, although a visit to Martha's Vineyard isn't beyond hope.
Find all of the out of print ones if you can, visit the library and find those you can and then plunge in and enjoy.

more Colorado than Martha's Vineyard Nov. 29 2006
By Paul Skinner - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This mystery brings the brother of a dead college girl out of his Army special forces unit, on a mission to avenge his sister's wrongful death. Somehow, our hero J. W. Jackson gets caught in the crossfire, and must stop this man from killing his friend, a college professor. The book also features a side story that at first you think may be the main story, but which disappears until the very end of the book.

I considered this a sub-par Martha's Vineyard book. Better to stay on the island, Mr Craig.

It really is... Aug. 15 2014
By Charles L Innis Jr. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Continues the saga of J.W. and Zee, but with uncertainty as Zee heads north to discover herself and J.W. heads West to save his friend John Skye. A cliffhanger in several senses. Phillip R. Craig taught his students to write what they knew; in this book, he heads back to his origins in Colorado.
Cliff Hanger (Martha's Vineyard Mystery No. 4) by Philip R. Craig Feb. 5 2014

I am really enjoying Philip R. Craig's Vineyard Mystery Series. In this one our hero, J.W. Jackson escapes three attempts on his life, then rushes away from his beloved Martha's Vineyard to the Rocky Mountans of Colorado and the historical Durango territory, on a mission of mercy, only to face both his terror of heights and his assailant. The cliff-hanger in this story starts with the first attempt on his life in a college town in Massachusetts and continued to Colorado and back. A truly fun read. I am so glad Amazon is selling this series.
