5.0 out of 5 stars The best procedures book out there Feb 6 2011
By Anoop Jain - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I am currently training in a very busy level 1 trauma center in the US and have to do all sorts of procedures on my patients all the time. This book is absolutely the best text out there detailing all the procedures which you would ever have to do in your practice as an emergency physician. It is detailed, illustrated and lucid. It inspires confidence. All the relevant details are listed out there and it also warns about the common pitfalls and mistakes made by most.
This latest edition includes some of the newer US guided procedures as well.

An absolute must have for all physicians.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty poor when viewed on an iPhone screen, But great on a 17 inch! July 27 2012
By Randall L. Steffens - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
The printed book is absolutely the best! However I downloaded the iPhone Kindle version, and it is impossible to efficiently navigate the book from this app.
In order to read anything, one has to always begin from page one of the particular chapter, then flip 100+ pages to get to the exact topic in question. This is a disaster when time is of the essence.
There is absolutely no way to quickly navigate, and in a busy ED, if I can't get to the topic fast, the book is worthless.
I have tried numerous times and it is useless.

PS: if someone knows something that I don't, please let me know. I really wish this would work.

Randy
ED medical Director.

UPDATE 6 months later - Jan 16, 2013
I have used the Kindle version on my Macbook Pro and it actually works very well! I want to reiterate that be BOOK is a fantastic investment, but viewing the electronic version is a very serious challenge on the iPhone, because the screen is so terribly small. Obviously, it can be done and I have and continue to do so on my iPhone, but it is NEVER a pleasant experience! I only use the iPhone version when there is no other choice. This is NOT the fault of the book, only the medium on which it is viewed.

Again, viewing on a larger computer screen is a pleasure and I highly encourage anyone interested, to do so.
