Great details for visual learners on the different procedures for Medical Assisting. Would recommend for Medical Assisting students. I cannot compare to others, but have found this very useful.

Wonderfully written and illustrated. Easy to read and follow. Tons of information for pretty much every clinical procedure. Gotta have it!!
Clinically inept content while preaching unlawful and medically malpractical procedures. Sept. 17 2014
By Faithful Amazonian - Published on
Format: Hardcover
This book is poorly written and teaches multiple clinical errors. I find it difficult to comprehend that this book has been published under these circumstances. Not only does it encourage a Medical Assisting student to feel as though they have any authority or legal right to make any clinical decisions about any patient any time but this reference also directs them to say ad do things in direct patient proximity that are legally prohibited and clinically incorrect and bordering on if not full medical malpractice. How this book has been used as a clinical reference is beyond the law and should be re-written and edited by knowledgeable medical personnel that have the education and experience to make ethically sound evaluations of its content and application.
I can easily miss something important Dec 26 2014

The text has very little "fluff" and I find if I don't read all of it, I can easily miss something important. I particularly like the "extras" in the book like the Patient Teaching boxes and What Would You Do? The free Evolve website is also really helpful for extra study. The DVDs from this text are finicky however; sometimes they work and sometimes not. If they don't work in your laptop, try your movie DVD player, or a different computer. That said, the Evolve website has ALL the videos from the DVDs posted online, so if they don't play, or if you buy a used text with no software, you aren't hosed. I find the Glossary a little limiting, but the Appendix of Medical Abbreviations is really useful.
