GOOD: Toner longevity is great, doesn't dry up if not used (purchased this 4 years ago). Perfect for those of us that don't print items every day.
BAD: This cartridge printed only 75% of it's stated 1500 pages; my printer report shows 1134 pages printed, with 1% toner remaining.

Based on this, appears I paid for 100% of something and received only 75%. I will search for alternatives before buying Samsung toner again.

Disappointed in Amazon for shipping JUNK June 29 2012

I have bought these from Amazon before, but this time I got JUNK. I guess it is too bad I ordered them 2 months before I needed them. They were shipped in a SAMSUNG box, sealed up all nice and neat inside just like brand new toners. But, after installing one, all I ever get is "INVALID TONER" errors. I put the toner cartridge in and out after each print and got it to work for a few weeks, then had to change it out again. Same thing on the second one. I had to go to a local retailer and buy REAL SAMSUNG toner to get it to work just fine. (not my printer's problem since the new one works OK).

Disappointed May 30 2011

Ordered this item in April because my toner was starting to get low. Just installed the new cartridge and the printer says it is an invalid toner and will not work. I checked on Amazon about returning it and since it is longer than a month since I received it, the return is not covered. I am very disappointed in Amazon for selling products that will not work as advertised. Will not buy from Amazon again. Now I am stuck with a two pack of toner that does not work.

It's REALLY black! April 7 2010

Well, what can I really say about this - it's ink (toner, if you want to be specific) for my Samsung printer. It installed easily, but what keeps it from getting a five-star review was the ridiculous packaging. Let's face it folks - ink and/or toner is NEVER going to be cheap, but do we REALLY need the packaging overkill ADDING to an already-inflated price? Seriously - the packaging is almost three TIMES the size of the toner cartridges themselves. Ah well, at least the ink is REALLY black! Thanks for reading.

Lasts a heavy printing home user nearly 2 years. Feb. 6 2011
By CDE - Published on
I bought my Samsung CLX-3175FN printer in December 2008. The stock toners lasted with moderate usage until about that June before they started to run out. I replaced them, and now 20 months later my black is giving a "low toner" warning for the first time, while my colored ones still have about a quarter of their supply left. This means I can expect them to easily last me a full 2 years, and my black should easily last me 21 months. This is on a pretty heavy amount of printing for a home user. What's best about toner? It doesn't dry up if not used for a while (like inkjet/bubblejet cartridges do). Worst case that I've heard of is someone telling me that after several months of not using the printer, the toner dust sometimes settles and the cartridge needs to be slightly/gently shaken to loosen it up.

Replacement is easy, easier than a liquid ink cartridge. You unwrap the cartridge, lift the tabs of your old one, and slide the new one in. Best of all, you only have to replace colors as they get low (unlike nearly all liquid cartridges where the ink is all in the same container, so running out of 1 color wastes the entire cartridge).

Best part of thermal transfer inks is that they are more water resistant than liquid ink, and an excessive amount (such as full page photography) doesn't ripple the paper.
