I've had my player now for a month and thus far I am quite pleased with it.
So here's my breakdown on everything about this little gadget:
1. Battery duration of play - manual and features say battery play time is 52 hours.
MP3 - I can't offer much info on this since I've never left it running for that long. However, I can listen to my .mp3's all day long on a single charge. The battery meter shows nearly empty at end of day, so I doubt that 52 hours is accurate.
Video - I've fully charged my coby and hit play. I was able to watch the entire movie of the Proposal before the battery was drained. So you're looking at roughly 90 minutes battery life for pushing out video resolution. Not the best, but for the price not too shabby.
Radio - Oddly enough, I hardly use it. I've got too many favorite songs to listen to on .mp3's but it's a great feature for when I'm just in that certain, "what's going on in the world" mood. So glad they added this ability to the unit. so battery life??? Umm.. i'd say probably same as mp3.
2. Size - Casing size is slim and portable. Nice sleek black front and shiny silver sides. overall, this little bad boy fits in my shirt pocket, pants pocket, palm of my hand. It's the perfect portable size.Display: TFT
Display Size: 2.8 inches
Width: 2 inches
Depth: 0.4 inches
Weight: 0.54 pounds
3. Quality -
Video - Niiice. Now remember, your video quality is greatly dependant upon the actual resolution of your video file. Fortunately, with the small 2.8 inch screen everything is so compressed, that it's really hard to have a bad video image. The image is bright, sharp, just imagine your flatscreen tv, and your watching it from another room. That's the best I can do, to describe this. I love the quality.
Audio - Using earbuds is probably the best way to use this (They are included with the coby - but I already have a favorite pair that I use instead). It uses the same small plug as your ipod device. *Disclaimer - It should be noted that I'm not one for having music blasting into my ears, and although it does have a decent audio level, It wont' go so high that you'll feel the music in your head with deep bass or anything. It's just loud enough to keep me playing it at mid level rather than full blast. And yes, you can still hear it softly if you take the earbuds off and place it on your desk.
Photo - This new toy is so awesome that i can carry my pictures with me also and proudly show off my recent images. the quality also holds up well and photos are vivid and sharp.
I Use Windows Media player to synchronize (transer) my music, videos and podcasts to my coby. iTunes doesn'e even recognize my player. Another way of transferring your files is by using it as you would a regular USB flash drive. Hope this helps.
