Product Description

Lelouch Lamperouge, an abandoned prince of the Holy Britannian Empire, hides his true identity as a student in the colonized territory of Area 11, formerly known as Japan. After he acquires the power of “Geass” from the mysterious girl named C.C., which enables him to command anyone to obey his order, he wears the mask of Zero and begins his rebellion against his own father’s empire, so that he can take revenge for his assassinated mother.

A thrilling fusion of the world of an Arthurian knighthood and the futuristic robotic warfare, this epic series has been internationally recognized with various awards including Outstanding TV Anime at Tokyo Anime Award (2007) and Best Original Series at Japan Expo held in Paris, France (2010). A must-see for all sci-fi and fantasy fans!

I'd give this five stars, if it weren't for R2 surpassing it. "Bloodstained Euphy" is the emotional crescendo here. Stunning.

OUCH! It's Lelouch NOT Leouch! Dec 26 2010
By Alejandro Gonzalez - Published on
Format: DVD Verified Purchase
Currently In the title of this Amazon page they spelled our epic hero's name wrong, it's Lelouch of the Rebellion!
[UPDATE: It's fixed now.]

Anyways, Bandai Entertainment has finally stop hitting the snooze button on that alarm clock of theirs and that have finally brought us one of, if not the greatest Anime of this decade, into a complete First Season collection.(The First 25 Episodes. Does Not Include R2)

This Anime truly deserves the royal treatment when it comes to releases, so I'm hoping they edit those letters that say "DVD" and change them to "Blu-ray". Anyways, If you still have not yet witnessed the intense action, excellent character and superb story of this Anime then wait no longer and see what everyone has been talking about.

9 "Refrain"
10 "Guren Dances"
11 "Battle for Narita"
12 "The Messenger from Kyoto"
13 "Shirley at Gunpoint"
14 "Geass vs. Geass"
15 "Cheering Mao"
16 "Nunnally Held Hostage"
17 "Knight"
18 "I Order you, Suzaku Kururugi"
19 "Island of the Gods"

Awesome in a Box Jan. 29 2011

This item is long overdue! I can't wait for it to come out. The anime is amazing with great character comparison and dynamic. I'ts one of the best I've ever watched. Its an anime with a touch of almost everything to suit almost everyone. If you don't support Lelouch than you can support Suzaku. And if you don't like either of them there is a whole range of other characters you can root for. Its one anime I'm for sure adding to my collection. I'm super excited for this to finally get here!

For some odd reason I thought it was a box set. It isn't, so slight disappointment there but its still super nice. There is Six discs in one case and each one has its own respective features and episodes. Everything from the case to the menus to the discs them selves have some awesome art work on them. Overall great buy if you don't want to have to pay for all the separate parts and have the whole series in one spot. I have heard of issues with the prongs that holding the discs breaking, but none of mine have broken at all so far and the discs all sit firmly and stable with in the case.

FIVE STARS April 18 2011

I did something really stupid going into watching this...I bought this Season One collection before knowing barely anything about this series. BUT I loved it nonetheless! It was a great series and has everything I love in a show. It's smart, pretty and the character's are all interesting...well most of them anyways. The best part of this show in my opinion is that they don't waste your time on the immature dumb characters that are weeded throughout most animes...well they kind of do but only to remind you that Lelouch is still in school (I think). I loved the character dynamics and that they keep C.C. and the Geass power a mystery throughout the 1st season. The only terribly cliche thing about this anime is the relationship between Lelouch and Suzaku but that grows on you; the more you learn about Suzaku's past the less cliche it feels (at least for me). The mecha action is very well done it reminds me of the Gundam 00 mecha strategic form of battles...which is a good thing (in my opinion...mainly because I am not a total meacha douche who thinks that all the great mecha animes were decades ago). I loved this anime and so did my wife, which was surprising. I would highly recommend this series; it has a little of everything
List of Everything:
School environment
Dark pasts
Moral issues
tits (if you really watch anime for that...I feel sorry for you)
romantic interests
political war
violent indiscriminate war
mysterious supporting character
Giant robots blowing the crap out of each other
Strategery (as Bush would call it)
Point is the show is really good; it's not just for mecha fans.
Hope this was at least semi-helpful.

Absolutely Beautiful Feb. 25 2011

I have been waiting for some time for the box set to come out. I've seen both R1 and R2, and I have to say, Code Geass is absolutely beautiful. I don't usually like mech animes, but I adore this one due to it's complexity. Along with the main plot, there are also little subplots along the way, and a surprising resolution.

everything I anticipated and more July 24 2011

If every anime company that puts out a box series could do em' like this, I would be a happy customer(hint hint, VIZ people/Bleach). I like the fact that they put the ENTIRE 1st season in one set, and NOT split it half just to make extra money...also, the price for the set was VERY reasonable with customers' pockets- not like paying $40 bucks for 10 episodes. I enjoyed the show again(after first seeing it on Cartoon Network)- uncut, and this time I didnt miss any key episodes. I have to admit, this series was one of the best that I have seen in a while.I do wish they couldve had more material, like the voice actor/actress interviews(I did enjoy that segment on disc 5).And mine came in with no scratches or damages to any of the discs, which made me a very happy camper.

I'm eager for Bandai to release the 2nd season in a set(anybody knows a release date?)...the 1st season was good, but the 2nd season is even better- especially the ending!
