Firstly I want to recommend Amazon.ca to purchase this game.I got it NEW cheaper than most used ones were on Ebay.....TRUE!! Now...on to the review. I have read a number of reviews of this game that dissed it because it is perhaps something less than perfect....is there a perfect game out there for the Wii??...not to my knowledge. In the world of racing there are basically 2 genres....those that are "fun' to play and those that are challenging to play. Mario Kart is fun to play but if you're looking for something a lot more challenging and realistic then look no further. This game is excellent!! The physics are darn near perfect from the 'assists' you can turn on or off ( stearing, bracking etc ) to the realistic 'contact' you have with objects...moving and otherwise. The graphics are stunning considering we are dealing with a Wii....not the most powerfull system out there and the overall 'FEEL' of the drive is VERY realistic. I confess I've always been a fan of Codemasters and they didn't disapoint me here. For the price it's incredible and I've not seen ANY other racing game for the Wii that comes close.....however...as an ex-Montrealer I resent the omission of the Montreal track....for many years a staple of Formula 1 tracks...Home track of the incredible Gilles Villeneuve. 'Nuff said....You won't be sorry buying this game.

Even if you're not an F1 fan, if you're into hardcore racing, this game is for you. As an avid F1 watcher, I was eagerly anticipating the release of this game. While the game does have its shortcomings I was very satisfied with the overall game experience. They have been quite faithful to the 2009 rules which means you have 10 seconds of KERS boost available per lap which is a great feature. Unfortunately because the game is based on the 2009 season, Montreal has been left out which is a real shame. The tire wear is very realistic so sometimes you need to concentrate on taking care of your tires. There are many driver aids that you can turn on and off, from steering and braking assists to traction and stability control. Because of this customizable difficulty level, this game is suitable for all ages and skill levels. I just tried the 2 player feature with a friend who is also an F1 fan and we had a ball. He even beat me a couple of times. Don't bother with the package that comes with the wheel if you already have a wheel. Honestly, I was hoping for analog pedals and paddle shifters. I'm not sure if the Wii could even support this, but hopefully we'll see it in the future. One thing that I really feel should have been included is a replay feature. Most serious racing games I have played in the past have this feature and I really enjoyed taking a break from playing to watch the race I just completed. I would also like to see some difference in the speed of the cars. While it shouldn't be impossible to win a race in a Torro Rosso or Force India, these cars should be not quite as fast as a McLaren or Ferrari. Overall, this is a very good racing game with enough game modes and challenges to keep you interested. This is a must-have for F1 fans who own a Wii.
