Book Description

June 2004
A fast-moving new thriller of betrayal and revenge and murder in the bestselling tradition of Chris Ryan and Andy McNab. Haunted by the brutal killing of his UN interpreter wife in Bosnia, ex-SAS man Ed Coltrane is consumed with the need to hunt down her murderers. Drinking too much and spending too much on his search, his life is going into meltdown...Until, just in time, a former colleague tells him one of his wife's killers is in London as guest of the British government. This is only the start of a dangerous journey into the dark heart of modern Europe, where he finds himself in deadly conflict with the new mafias and security apparatus of an emerging superstate - and discovers a secret act of national betrayal that is as shocking as it is unexpected.

3.0 out of 5 stars Treachery, suspicion and more... Sept. 19 2005
By HORAK - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Ed Coltrane is an ex-SAS operative who has been trying to hunt down those who murdered his wife Astrid Kweiss in Bosnia-Herzegovina. They are Brigadier Domedzic and Zoran Mihac. An old colleague of Coltrane's tells him that Domedzic is now in London at a British intelligence "safe house". Coltrane quickly senses that he can't miss this last chance to take revenge. But to achieve his aim, he will have to compromise and even face an act of national betrayal... A fast-paced adventure story in Mr Strong's traditional style.
2.0 out of 5 stars A Political Tract Feb. 22 2012
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
On the face of it an adventure story. Ex-SAS man trapped into a chase which is actually designed to lead to his own death. Nail-biting stuff to the end.

Actually, a political tract with a decidely anti-EU message. There is even a tag at the end of the book to tell you where you can find out more about the threat which the EU. according to Mr Strong, represents.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great first discovery from Terence Strong. June 18 2010

I must say that this was a great read. It was relly well written and researched. I had a very hard time putting this book down. I did find myself laughing at times and found these times appropriate. The story itself is worrisome when you actually remove some of the fiction and think about it. This is the first book I have read by Terence Strong and look forward to reading more of his work. I would and have highly recommend this book.
