This converter/adapter will convert a 3-prong plug into a 2-prong plug. Eliminate the need to run extension cords across the room to find available outlets. This will convert a 3-prong power plug into a 2-prong while maintaining the ground. Great for plugging 3-prong devices into older sockets or extension cords. If your home/office has outlets with 2 prongs, it means they aren't grounded. The ground wire was added for personal protection. Appliances that have the third prong for the ground, have a portion of the equipment, or casing connected to that ground prong. Then if there are any wires inside the appliance that get loose, and make contact with the casing, the current will flow through the ground wire, instead of you. Without the ground connection, you may well be the best or only path to ground, and you can receive a shock. Converts a 3-prong power plug into a 2-prong while maintaining grounded protection. These work just fine, but have a fairly significant downside. When plugged into our outlet (it may be different in newer outlets) and a heavier cord is plugged into them they have a tendency to droop or wiggle slightly out of the outlet, making it very easy to lose power. Once, I accidentally bumped it and it fell out completely shutting off my computer. Thank you, Autosave.Still worth purchasing, but be aware of their dark, droopy side and plan accordingly.

Would give 5 stars but these adapters are REALLY hard to remove from the original plug; they do get the job done though.

I have no issues with these. They snugly fit the 3 prong cable (actually a bit hard to get on, but at least it's not loose) and do what they're supposed to do. I really didn't compare prices anywhere else to see if this was a good deal or not but I was happy with the price and the fast 2-day shipping from Amazon. I would buy these again if I needed some additional 3 to 2 prong connectors.
