Product Description

This is the best, most accessible "student" or everyday-use dictionary I've found. I have gradually acquired class sets at my school, and used it successfully for years. It is quite comprehensive (I have only rarely had a student encounter words they can't find in this dictionary), the entries are very clear, and--quite importantly in a world of dumbed-down "student dictionaries" that don't think children need or can handle this--the roots of each word are listed. AND, this dictionary is cheap! In first buying a dictionary for my then-ten-year-old, I paid three times this amount for a fancy hardcover "children's dictionary" that was so useless we eventually just got rid of it.
