I have been drawing for a long time, but have not painted until this past January when I received a certificate for a mixed media class for Christmas. I was totally intimidated by mixing colours and ended up with large puddles of wasted paint, both watercolour and acrylics. This little book has been a godsend as it tells me how much of each colour to put in to get a specific colour. I can now mix large or small amounts of paint by using the proportions suggested and get the colour that I'm looking for. Thank you William F. Powell!

Some recipes could be simpler,

This book is fairly well done but some of the recipes are too complex. In some of the colour mixes you have to mix one or two other recipes, then take a small amount of that mix or mixes for the coloour you are mixing. A waste of paint and more complex than it should have been. Other than this the book is well laid out the colour production in the colour swatches is pretty good (you know what colour you will get) and the other information is well written. Overall a good buy.
