Product Description

Come Clarity reeks with darker vocals, heavier riffs and a cleaner drum assault. Songs such as 'Scream', 'Crawl Through Knives' and 'Versus Terminus' provide excellent twin guitar shredding and slight old school feelings. Ferret Music. 2006.

In Flames gave us something fresh and different. I can easily understand the ''whoracle/colony...'' fan to hate this CD because it's different .. really different. But they need to understand that In Flames need to change, they cannot do 5 album in a row exactly like Whoracle .. they'll be sick and tired. Anyway, each song on Come Clarity contains a clean vocal part. Here's a little review of the songs
1.Take this life: A great opener. First single off the album. It contains a clean chorus. I personaly like it 8/10
2.Leeches: Not a very long song, about 2.50min. The song has a little bit of electronical sound. Again, anothey clean chorus (which sounds pretty good) 8/10
3.Reflect the Storm: The old In Flames fan will completely hate this song because it's very different of what we've heard before. This song grows on me. Another 8/10
4.Dead End: Anders share his voice with a girl on this one. Don't be scare, still pretty good .. Damn .. another 8/10
5.Scream: Ishh .. personaly the worst song off the album. I love the guitar in the beginning .. but it's all. I hate the chorus. 6/10
6.Come Clarity: Here's a good surprise. A clean song. Like Slipknot did with Vermilion pt.2 on their latest album. This song is surprising .. pretty good but repetitive. I'll give it a 7/10
7.Vacuum: It starts like System (with the singing at the beginning). Most of In Flames fans don't like this one (as I read on forums) but as for me, this song is great. 9/10
8.Pacing Death's trail: I don't know why, but I use to skip this song. It's not my favorite song .. i'll give it a 7/10
9.Crawl Through Knives: Oh, here it is. This song is my favorite of the album. Nice riff and great chorus. 9.5/10
10.Versus Terminus: Another good song .. I don't have pretty much about it .

Don't expect another Jester's Race or Whoracle. The worst I feared would be another STYE, which I personally hated because of the synthesization, nu-metal style, and lack of lengthy melodic dual guitar solos. I have all albums from Jester's Race onwards.
With that said, Come Clarity is a remarkable improvement over STYE. People have said CC is better than RoR, and resembles Colony. In Flames has created some sort of hybrid album that takes parts from RoR and Colony, and the result lives up to the hype. Their signature solos are back (for the most part), and they have some experimental songs that work out well.
Most In Flames fans have something to nitpick in this album, but CC is a big step in the right direction. 5/5 simply because I love listening to it.
Highlights:
Reflect the Storm, Dead End, Leeches, Come Clarity, Versus Terminus, Our Infinite Struggle
Downfalls:
Scream (I can't stand it. Cheesy lyrics. Crappy solo. Belongs in STYE)

If you're looking for a remake of Lunar Strain, or Colony, then look elsewhere. In Flames takes their music in the same direction as Reroute to Remain and Soundtrack to Your Escape with their new album, Come Clairty. Some tracks just leap out at you, with intense heavy riffs, and influence from modern metal, while keeping their trademark In Flames style. The majority of this album, though, sounds as if they were intentionally avoiding a single. If you listen to this cd a few times, you'll eventually be singing along, loving every track, as I do.

Still miss those old brutal guitar riffs. Some songs have clean vocals like R2R and STYE. They have tried something new by adding female vocals time. Much better compared to R2R. Recommended for die hard In Flames fans. If you are trying In Flames for the first time, I would rather recommend you to listen to their old CDs like The Jester's Race, Colony, Clayman, Whoracle.
Old In Flames = R.I.P.

I think this CD is MUCH better than STYE and slightly better than R2R. Not as good as their original CD's, but they're getting more acknowledgement as a band in the direction they're going so, I guess you gotta do what you gotta do
