Product Description

Review

“David Forbes has created a rich world that would do well under further exploration. Throughout the novel, Forbes tears down a number of the clichés of the genre and reveals hidden truths behind what seem to be typical elements of an Epic Fantasy story.” (SFFworld.com on The Amber Wizard )

Product Description

Gerin, King of Khedesh, has long since accepted the mantle of Amber Wizard—the first in a millennium—with all the terrible responsibility that accompanies it. He has prevented the dread wizard-king, Asankaru, from attaining the all-powerful Words of Making, but the enemy grows stronger by the day.

And now Gerin must be resolute and pursue the secret of the Words at any and all cost. For a new foe has emerged in a furious race toward a magical artifact that can awaken and command monsters long thought dead. And nothing will survive the devastation wrought by dragon fire.

4.0 out of 5 stars Book 4?, Jun 1 2011
By Andrew - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Commanding Stone: The Osserian Saga: Book Three (Mass Market Paperback)
I have to say that I have really enjoyed all 3 books. The use and idea of magic is well thought out and the main plot is quite interesting. A few sub plots are a little questionable though. However, i don't recommend anyone purchase any of these books until David Forbes completes the series, way too many questions left unanswered. It's also very frustrating considering there has been no news of book 4 for many many years.

3.0 out of 5 stars An interesting anomaly, Jan 2 2011

How strange that the author is responding to a negative review that seems to have been erased... Exactly how helpful can these be when it's quite obvious the reviews are being screened. Don't get me wrong, the books were good, but please stop the censorship.

4.0 out of 5 stars Waiting for more, Feb 23 2010
By Kelson "Kelson" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Commanding Stone: The Osserian Saga: Book Three (Mass Market Paperback)
Of all three books this was the best. There was much to read "between the lines" and behind each character. I hope that book 4 is in the works as so many questions were left unanswered.

It was interesting to watch Gerin change in attitude and grow in strength during each of the books. His brother's talent in regards to animals also provides a basis for a great story (hopefully in book 4).
