Exquisite photos combine with candid prose, Oct 7 2003
By Debbie Morris - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Common Threads: Celebrating Life with Down Syndrome (Hardcover)
This wonderful volume about children (and their families) touched by Down syndrome is an inspiring and candid look at their dreams and goals, illustrated with original and beautifully styled photos of the children. It is a celebration of the beauty of children and how much alike all children are, regardless of their limitations, perceived or real. I can't decide which kept me from putting this book down - the photos or the stories - both were awesome.

As a parent of a child with Down syndrome, this is my favourite book. The photos of the children are delightful and the stories are inspirational and informative. It is a great coffee table book that you can easily share with family and friends and everyone can enjoy and celebrate the person with Down syndrome.

Celebration, Jan 31 2007

The photographs are beautiful and the little stories are interesting. The book is determinedly up- beat, almost to a fault, but the author's desire to present the best side of these children is understandable. She makes clear the fact that Down Syndrome children and adults are capable of so much , especially with the help of a good education and the understanding of the community. My major criticism is that the text and the photographs were totally unrelated.
