If you are looking for a compact Bible, this one is worth considering. The cover is soft, flexible and leather-like and should give years of wear. The pages are a high quality, thin paper (similar to India paper)and the typeface, while small, is very clear and easy to read. The book is small enough to be tucked into any backpack, briefcase or suitcase. Perfect for students and active young adults. Older readers may have some difficulty reading the small typeface.

If you grew up on the old King James Version, you will find the NKJV sounds familiar and is easy to read. It maintains the general flow of the authorized version while using more modern English words and grammar. It is an excellent choice for a modern translation of the Bible.

I really like this bible. I bought it so I can carry it in my purse and have a bible available to me at all times. It's small and lightweight so it works great. i especially like having for church because I don't have to carry my big bulky study bible any more. If you have kids the less you have to carry the better. The print size is good. It's small but not so small I have to struggle to read it. Older adults might have trouble with it. But overall I think it's great.

If you are looking to purchase a compact Bible without a flap in the NKJV, a Bible that is well constructed, this is a good choice. The font is small but crip and clear, the paper is thin but quite "white", the cover is man made but soft and flexable. The pages are sewned which is nice and the overall workmanship is good. There are no references or study notes, just the Scriptures. Included is a small concordance and a few select book introductions and a very small number of in text maps, also a few color maps at the end of the Bible.

As one of the other reviewers stated, the map of the Exodus is somewhat vague but is the same map found in many editions of the Bible. I think if the maps in this particular Bible offends then that person would be offended by many other Bibles offered for popular consumption. The problem is easy to correct, take a pair of scissors to the offending pages or self-edit with a red sharpie pen.

The publisher is not known for high quality bindings at this price point but this particular edition of the Bible is in my opinion one that will last years with moderate use and hence is an exception to the publishers reputation. Compared this edition to a Cambridge Pitt Minon it falls short but most are not going to throw said Pitt Minion (+/- $100.00) into a back pack and hike the Applachian Trail for a week with it either. This Bible is too small for serious study but might be the perfect travel companion for those who love the Word.
