This book has helped me completely through my first quilt. Although I have read many other quilting books, this was the MOST comprehensive and understandable book, with examples with the directions and plenty of pictures. I recommend this book to anyone -- whether they are starting out on their quilting journey or have quilted plenty before.

Just got this book and love it already. I have read numerous sections and will be able to refer to it when I can't remember or need to learn how to do something. There are many pictures to show you how things are done and to demonstrate what is being discussed. I sure wish I had this 2 weeks ago when I was working on my first independent quilt project. It would have been able to answer many of the techniques I was unsure of or needed more information on. If you are a beginner quilter, you will not be disappointed in this purchase.

The book is wonderful and would recommend it to any quilter - whether experienced or newby. I did have issues with my delivery, though, since the person who shipped my last order didn't wrap it well and the post office had to re-wrap my order after the package came open somewhere along the way. Consequently, some of the books came in dirty - I assumed that the "dirt" was from the original packaged having opened and they weren't actually shipped that way. Wrapping the books in plastic or paper before packing them up would have helped in this instance. Also, since I had ordered 6 copies, I found it a little odd that they came to me with 3 different prices on the back - clearly "older" and "newer" stock. Other than the delivery glitches, Love the book. :o)

I am a beginner quilter and a book lover. I have bought many quilting books, but so far this is one of my favourites. It has all the quilts in several sizes. It has applique and pieced quilts and I could make many from this book easy. I have started one and am collecting scraps for another. I just love it. It has a kalidascope, schoolhouse. charm star and two other star , irish chain, butterfly, pansy, bows, milky way tulips, hexagon etc. and their colour choices are inspirational.

I found this book a number of years ago when I first started quilting. I refer back to it again and again because of it's clear, concise directions and wonderful visuals. I think this book is the best reference that I have found of its type. As a result I have bought this book for numerous quilting friends and shared it with so many that they are now purchasing it themeselves.
