Overpriced for Content Value - Very Basic Read, Sep 15 2005
By Frances LaToure (Milwaukee, WI) - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Complete Idiots Guide Outsourcing (Mass Market Paperback)
There seems to be two types of reviews here: those expecting much more for the price and title, and those who knew they were buying a dummy level book.
I can offer a solution. There are hundreds of outsourcing blogs, outsourcing basics web sites, outsourcing introductory white papers and how-to's by vendors all available on the internet.
If you're reading this online, you're probably literate enough to go out to the web and search for outsourcing basic information on the internet for free. Therefore, I agree with the reviewers who say this is nothing more than a US Today overview article extended into a book with funny graphics. If you need substance, reach for another book. If you start with low expectations, you won't be disappointed, however.

Basic, Dummy Style/Dummy Level Management Advice on Outsourcing, Nov 24 2005
By Stephen Moreland (Westchester, NY) - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Complete Idiots Guide Outsourcing (Mass Market Paperback)
Very basic. Mostly duplicated from other sources. If you're new to outsourcing (and I can't imagine there are many managers out there who are new to outsourcing) then start with a review of this before purchasing.

The complete Idiot's Guide to Successful Outsourcing has been an excellent resource guide for our business. We tapped into some very useful strategies with the help of this book which were never considered or thought about by us, before using this book. This is a very good resource guide as our business was not even sure if outsourcing was the way to go and it has helped us to formalize our business decisions. With the size of our company, we were concerned logistically how would we carry out the outsourcing and with these helpful tips we are now successfully on the path of outsourcing. Most importantly were are now going to reap the benefits from outsourcing in the form of tremendous cost savings. In my opinion, this book is the best choice not only for companies currently considering to outsource their work but also for those businesses who are not considering to outsource, in order to make them aware the potential benefits that they may be missing out.
