An excellent introduction/guide to the "faith-based" life!, Mar 31 2007

The authors do a wonderful job of covering a wide range of topics (see the table of contents) relevant to living a "faith-based" life of purpose and joy. This book uses clear, easy to understand language and illustrations in a friendly tone. The reader will feel like they are having a conversation with a mentor or wise friend vs. reading an instructional text book. This book is a great choice for young people, those wanting to know what "faith-based" really means and how to apply that to life, and those seasoned in the Christian faith who need a "get-back-to basics" break.

This is a good book that simply introduces the Christian faith. The stories, examples, and flow are very approachable. With the Idiot's series you know what you are getting. I wouldn't read an Idiot's Guide to Basketball and expect to play like Michael Jordan next time out. Or read an Idiot's Guide to Mechanics and expect to know how to build a car. So for it's purpose this book does a good job (and I seriously doubt the book was written in 3 days!) It's a good book for the new or potential believer. I wouldn't read in my Seminary courses but it is well written and thought out.
