This has all their studio albums in one very elegant box. What more could you ask for. The only slight thing I'd change is including a booklet on the history of Roxy Music. Otherwise, this box is flawless.

I'm stunned by the poor reviews for this set. These are flat tranfers from the master tapes, meaning they haven't had the life squashed out of them or had the volume cranked to ear-bleeding levels like most modern remasters. If you want to hear Roxy loud, turn up the volume yourself. And believe me, these discs sound great loud. They're smooth and dynamic and blow the shrill '99 remasters out of the water. This is how reissues should sound.

Unlike the previous reviewer, I think I CAN complain about this box set, cost notwithstanding. As he said, the sound quality is quite poor compared to the 1999 remasters - the general sound compares favourably to standing in front of your speakers with LOTS of cotton in your ears. What a let down. No lyrics, no notes - beautiful box on the outside but buyer beware! I personally spend a lot of time and money trying to obtain the best audio possible of my favourite bands and sometimes you get burned - this is one of those times. If you were buying Roxy for the first time then this might do, but if the main reason for remasters is to improve on past technology, then this is a complete failure. Where's Steven Wilson when you need him?

roxy music box set
The first disc does not have the same volume as the others.It is also missing VIRGINIA PLAIN.The 99remasters are a much better investment.Dont waste your money. Read more
