I bought this with the hope of learning Ukrainian. I had absolutely zero exposure to Ukrainian before i purchased it, and within just a couple of days I could read written Ukrainian and was able to learn basic phrases. The progression is very natural and they introduce you to grammar slowly so you learn practical phrases as you learn to understand the structure of the language. They also include native speakers in the audio portion so you hear how it is supposed to sound and your ears get accustomed to the accent and rhythm of speech. I highly recommend this product, it is well worth it. You will be proficient in the language within 1 month of diligent study.

this is a good little kit for the money i spent... it does focus on the vocab right up front and is very honest in its assessments of how you will progress given an appropriate amount of time spent on the course materials. that being said... if you drop the course materials from your daily routine for even a week you will be right back at square one again. make sure you have the time to really commit to this for an extended period
