Excellent Collection of Authentic Haydn! Dec 26 2011
By Matt B - Published on
Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase
As someone who tends to be somewhat long-winded in his reviews I will be relatively short and sweet here. This recording is simply the best version on either period or modern instruments that I have come across in this repertory. While they don't attain the scope and grandeur of Mozart's best works in the genre, I still love Haydn's keyboard concerti and they definitely sparkle here. Our soloist alternates between organ, harpsichord, and fortepiano and instinctively chooses the best instrument for each work. Other than the fact that several of her cadenzas are possibly a bit drawn-out, I can find no fault with these joyous performances. Excellent sound to boot... get this!

absolutely delightful Feb. 23 2014
By William Sommerwerck - Published on
Format: Audio CD
It is impossible to disagree with Matt B's review. These are lively, engaging, even (at times) witty performances. Ms Schornsheim obviously loves this music. Hoboken XVIII #3 -- the music and her performance -- is almost worth the price of the album.
