The book covers all the important things a submissive wants to know about. How to recognize abuse, how to communicate, how to make sure your needs are met. Kacie also touches on the most common questions for anyone interested in power exchange: punishment and correction, fantasy vs reality, rituals. She does this with a friendly tone as if she was talking directly to you. As you read you feel like she is right there beside you guiding you through your journey. Never telling you what you should do, or how, only providing examples, insight and thoughts to consider. I felt empowered to form my own opinions on what being a submissive means to me.
Although I have read many books, attended conferneces and workshops, I found this book to be the most insightful and thought provoking book on submission. I found myself questioning things and seeing them from a different angle. I felt like I was understood. That to me shows she is authentic. She lives what she is writing about.
This book is now my go-to book as I grow in my relationship. I think every woman who identifies as a submissive should be handed a copy when she arrives at her first event. For those who have already attended their first event...get a copy of this book. It doesn't matter where you are in your journey, Kacie covers it all. She makes you think about the things you thought you knew.
