About the Author

Herman Zeidman received his M.D. degree from Temple University and an M.S. degree in Counseling Psychology from Nova University. Dr Zeidman practiced medicine until 1982, when he changed his specialty to psychosomatic medicine. His self - administered interactive methods have helped scores of patients from all walks of life overcome modern psychological maladies such as stress, anxiety, depression, and phobic fears-often without the need for any strong medications.

Dr Zeidman is a member of the American Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine and American Board of Pain Management.

Conquer Stress: Staying Alive in an Insane World is his latest book. Dr Zeidman says, "It sums up in a reachable way the simple but highly effective techniques that have helped so many of my patients solve psychological problems over the years. Through this book, I can now share these techniques with a far greater number of people who need them."

4.0 out of 5 stars Conquer Stress: Staying Sane in an Insane World, Sep 24 2005

The book appears to be quick and informative and it has some good advice, but it almost makes me stressed out to read it because it is so fast paced. Of course, he tells you to read some of it over and over again to get the procedures down. Dr. Zeidman holds back no punches and he gets down to the nitty-gritty. If you want this book as a self-help book, let me tell you now, don't buy it unless you are ready to change your old habits!
