Excellent Book: Effort Required,

This is a book that gives you a technique tocontact your Spirit Guide. It is A technique and like all techniques you have to use it. It is a little like lifting weights. If the weights sit on the floor, gathering dust, you are not going to get strong. If you lift them only once and give up, you are not going to get strong. You have to lift them regularly. You are going to have to work Sylvia Browne's technique until it works. As usual, Sylvia Browne explains clearly what to do and why you do it. If you are not going to make an effort, then don't buy the book, but if you want to do something spiritual for yourself, this is a good book with good techniques to help you do it.

Just what I was looking for,

If you do not believe there are those with us who we cannot see, you have no business reading this book. That said, I read this cover to cover in one sitting, and I am already getting to know my Spirit Guide. This is not an ALTERNATIVE to God, rather, it is a CONTINUATION of Him and who is guiding us from the Other Side ie. Heaven. You don't really think it is just God helping us, do you? Think of a Spirit Guide as another name for what we more commonly call our "Guardian Angel". This book explains their role in our lives, and how they, WITH God, are helping us to fulfill our destiny in this life. VERY FASCINATING! The only "complaint" I would have is that I am reading several of Sylvia's books at once, so some of the information was touched on in her other books.

If you're trying to find enlightenment, this book is a good start. It's supposed to help you contact your spiritual guide. Don't expect to be able to see them or have actual conversations, but the book at least helps you to believe that a spiritual guide exists. Like others have said, this book is very short, but it at least comes with a cd that has both meditations and a talk given by Sylvia to spirtual seekers.
