About the Author
David Matheson received his PhD in philosophy at Brown University in 2003, and is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Philosophy at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. Professor Matheson's research interests lie in epistemology, ethics, and the philosophy of mind and language. Among his own contributions to the privacy literature are "A Distributive Reductionism about the Right to Privacy" (The Monist), "Deeply Personal Information and the Reasonable Expectation of Privacy in Tessling (The Canadian Journal of Criminology and Criminal Justice), "Unknowableness and Informational Privacy" (The Journal of Philosophical Research), "Anonymity and Testimonial Warrant" (Principia), "Dignity and Selective Self-presentation" (I.
