Product Description

Parents today know that one of the best ways to give a baby a great start in life is with wholesome, homemade foods.

While ready-made baby food is a convenience that any new parent can appreciate, feeding everyday fresh foods is the best way to teach a child healthy eating habits and an appreciation for good food from the cradle onward.

The 80 recipes in Cooking for Baby make preparing delicious meals for babies and toddlers a breeze, even for busy parents. The recipes are organized by age, showing how to introduce cereal grains and simple vegetable and fruit purees to your infant at 6 months, how to move on to chunkier foods by 8 or 9 months, and how to graduate to real meals for young toddlers of 12 to 18 months to enjoy along with the entire family. When you see how easy it is, with a few smart tips on preparation and storage, you'll never go back to the jars.

With Cooking for Baby, your youngster will enjoy a wide variety of fresh and interesting foods for a very happy and healthy beginning.

I love this cookbook not only because of its gorgeous illustrations, the recipes are simple and creative. The writing is straightforward; very easy to understand. It does not overload you with information yet it has everything I need to feel comfortable and confident to start this new phase of my baby's development. I also love her nutritional facts on the side of each recipe as well as great suggestions to make introducing solids more enjoyable for my baby and for me. I strongly recommend this book for 1st time moms.

4.0 out of 5 stars Helpful, but could be more inclusive, May 27 2010
By
As a newbie to making my own baby food I have found this to be very helpful. There is more information in it than just recipes and the illustrations are great. The only piece I find lacking is sometimes certain food items (eg. broccoli) are not featured except in chapters for older children (DD is 6 months) and I am sure I could introduce it in a different form at an earlier stage and that is not provided. Luckily I can figure most stuff out on my own with the basics this book has provided. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love it so much ... I'm STILL using it :), Jun 29 2011
This book is amazing! The recipes are simple. The pictures are enticing. And the food is actually good! My daughter loves each and every one of them (and so does my hubby!).

I would definitely recommend this to all moms.
