5.0 out of 5 stars Encouraging and useful April 1 2012
By MiriamP - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is in two parts; a general guide to transitioning from cooking with measuring to without, as well as a variety of "recipes" that are conducive to the no-measuring style. The combination is an excellent one, as the guide itself give plenty of helpful advice, encouragement, and step-by-step directions, and the recipes show you in a practical way how to transition and what kinds of recipes will work for this transition. Plus, the recipes are great; many are one-dish recipes are all are simple and tasty. You're sure to find "recipes" that you'll love and use whenever you need a meal without all that preparation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting read Mar 19 2012
By Hannah Halberstam - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
This book tells you a lot about cooking without measuring, obviously, but also feels like a chat with an old friend. You get the author's memories, insights, and jokes too...I think everyone should read this, even if they are married to their measuring spoons!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as Informative as I had hoped April 25 2013

The whole things boils down to "calibrating your hand", i.e., being able to grab a half-cup of something because you have trained you hand to know how to pick up a half-cup of something.

I guess I was looking for something a bit more "Use the Force" based. I don't know...
