Popular comedian Brent Butt returns to small town Saskatchewan to portray the life he would have led had he gotten a real job - pumping gas at Corner Gas. Each episode of Corner Gas delivers a half-hour of comedic voyeurism in a place where everyone knows everyone else's business. The series is set in the fictional town of Dog River Saskatchewan, and focuses on the life (or lack thereof) of gas station owner Brent LeRoy, coffee shop proprietor Lacey Burrows and the folks who populate the area. Dog River is a nice town, but far from the quaint and idyllic little burgs we're used to seeing on TV. It isn't Pleasantville and it's definitely not Mayberry. It's a little town with a definite edge where not much happens and people like it that way. But invariably, when things do change, just a little, all hell breaks loose!
Things can get pretty quiet in a sleepy Prairie town. But that's the way they like it in Dog River.
Corner Gas follows the life of Brent LeRoy (Brent Butt), a gas station owner/operator, as well as coffee shop owner Lacey Burrows (Gabrielle Miller), his best friend Hank Yarbo (Fred Ewanuick), police officers Davis Quinton (Lorne Cardinal) and Karen Pelly (Tara Spencer-Nairn), and retail assistant Wanda (Nancy Robertson).
Corner Gas co-stars fellow Saskatchewan natives and Gemini winners Eric Peterson (Trudeau) and Janet Wright (The Perfect Storm), who play Brent's parents.
