Product Description

Canada's #1 Comedy Series Hangs Up the Pump. Experience the hugely popular series as it winds up its run with a full Series Boxed Set including all six seasons of Corner Gas

Popular comedian Brent Butt returns to small town Saskatchewan to portray the life he would have led had he gotten a real job - pumping gas at Corner Gas. Each episode of Corner Gas delivers a half-hour of comedic voyeurism in a place where everyone knows everyone else's business. The series is set in the fictional town of Dog River Saskatchewan, and focuses on the life (or lack thereof) of gas station owner Brent LeRoy, coffee shop proprietor Lacey Burrows and the folks who populate the area. Dog River is a nice town, but far from the quaint and idyllic little burgs we're used to seeing on TV. It isn't Pleasantville and it's definitely not Mayberry. It's a little town with a definite edge where not much happens and people like it that way. But invariably, when things do change, just a little, all hell breaks loose!

From the Studio

Things can get pretty quiet in a sleepy Prairie town. But that's the way they like it in Dog River.

Corner Gas follows the life of Brent LeRoy (Brent Butt), a gas station owner/operator, as well as coffee shop owner Lacey Burrows (Gabrielle Miller), his best friend Hank Yarbo (Fred Ewanuick), police officers Davis Quinton (Lorne Cardinal) and Karen Pelly (Tara Spencer-Nairn), and retail assistant Wanda (Nancy Robertson).

Corner Gas co-stars fellow Saskatchewan natives and Gemini winners Eric Peterson (Trudeau) and Janet Wright (The Perfect Storm), who play Brent's parents.

I have always loved corner gas, cant say a single bad thing about it. Great family comedy that you can watch over and over again. I was sad to learn that it was going off the air, but this dvd set, for a great price, can let me live in those great small town memories.

I purchased this as a gift for my partner, and we've been watching all the episodes. The boxed set is great, and the bonus features are cool, too. Buying the boxed set through amazon.ca was far less expensive than trying to get the individual sets through the US version of Amazon, which doesn't carry the "Full Tank" set.

I couldn't resist buying this series. As a Canadian living in small-town Saskatchewan we can relate to the humor in every episode. A great Canadian comedy!

I LOVE Corner Gas! I like the special "Gas Tank" box it comes in. The price was right, especially compared to buying the season separately. My only gripe is the quality of the DVDs themselves. Several of the discs skipped, brand new, right out of the case. Unfortunately, I bought this in Canada from America, and I don't want to pay international shipping just to correct this. When I have the urge to watch those episodes, I'll stream them from YouTube.

I must admit, most Canadian Television shows are a little cheesy, with poorer production value, and somewhat inferior acting standards. But Corner Gas is a HUGE Exception! This show is unique, addictive, and highly entertaining and hilarious! The clever way in which stories intertwine and are written remind me a little of Seinfeld's early days - when the show was new and fresh. The characters are lovable, quirky and unbelievably memorable - they get under your skin! The writing skills and acting is superb and I'm not sure Brent will ever be able to create a show as magical and endearing as this one! Kudos to Canada for one of the best comedies of all time! And thank you to Saskatchewan (Rouleau in particular) for the great scenery!!! (The show makes it seem like Canada is in endless summer - I WISH!!)

This comedy series is absolutely brilliant in its content and humour. When it was originally broadcast, I watched most of the episodes and never stopped laughing. As opposed to most sitcoms on the air today, there is no laugh-track so the only inducement to chiuckle is the material itself. Set in a small town in Saskatchewan, Canada, the wonderful characters come alive with snappy dialogue, priceless expressions and just plain, good, old-fashioned neighbourliness. Occasionally, cameos of celebrity Canadians appear for an instant which is exciting and refreshing. This is a good family show but I don't think kids would appreciate some of the humour, which tends to be innuendo. I really glad I purchased the box set...it's a classic.

Corner Gas is a very humorous series taking place in Dog River, a fictitious small town community in rural Saskatchewan, Canada. It has no laugh track but is so well written, it doesn't need one. You will meet one of the grumpiest husband and wife characters in all of television -- Oscar and Emma--almost always in a foul mood. Oscar's favorite insult is 'jackass'. Each episode uses flashbacks inserted to cleverly connect characters thoughts and moods.

Paul Mather, an Edmonton product, is the producer and a major script writer.

This series is packed with lots of hilarity. A worthwhile addition to your DVD collection.

I love this show and would have easily given the 5 star treatment if the box set packaging was not so disappointing. Basically they took the 6 individual seasons and wrapped them in a thin cardboard box. Packaging and content wise, there is no difference buying this than if you buy all six sets individually.

They should have taken the two corner gas books and created a nice set with all of the DVDs.

Oh well, the show is still amazing! The cast had true chemistry and the stories are a good combination of situational and word play comedy.
