Product Description

Canada's #1 Comedy Series Hangs Up the Pump. Experience the hugely popular series as it winds up its run with a full Series Boxed Set including all six seasons of Corner Gas

Popular comedian Brent Butt returns to small town Saskatchewan to portray the life he would have led had he gotten a real job - pumping gas at Corner Gas. Each episode of Corner Gas delivers a half-hour of comedic voyeurism in a place where everyone knows everyone else's business. The series is set in the fictional town of Dog River Saskatchewan, and focuses on the life (or lack thereof) of gas station owner Brent LeRoy, coffee shop proprietor Lacey Burrows and the folks who populate the area. Dog River is a nice town, but far from the quaint and idyllic little burgs we're used to seeing on TV. It isn't Pleasantville and it's definitely not Mayberry. It's a little town with a definite edge where not much happens and people like it that way. But invariably, when things do change, just a little, all hell breaks loose!

From the Studio

Things can get pretty quiet in a sleepy Prairie town. But that's the way they like it in Dog River.

Corner Gas follows the life of Brent LeRoy (Brent Butt), a gas station owner/operator, as well as coffee shop owner Lacey Burrows (Gabrielle Miller), his best friend Hank Yarbo (Fred Ewanuick), police officers Davis Quinton (Lorne Cardinal) and Karen Pelly (Tara Spencer-Nairn), and retail assistant Wanda (Nancy Robertson).

Corner Gas co-stars fellow Saskatchewan natives and Gemini winners Eric Peterson (Trudeau) and Janet Wright (The Perfect Storm), who play Brent's parents.

I purchased this as a gift for my partner, and we've been watching all the episodes. The boxed set is great, and the bonus features are cool, too. Buying the boxed set through amazon.ca was far less expensive than trying to get the individual sets through the US version of Amazon, which doesn't carry the "Full Tank" set.

After watching virtually every episode of this show multiple times on broadcast TV, I finally decided it was time to buy the set. My wife and I LOVE the dry, witty, at times zany humour of this show !!(You noticed I wrote humour with a 'u'..I'm Canadian, eh!) The show is so well written, acted (by EVERY member of the cast - all the characters are so perfectly defined-even the minor characters that appear now and then) and produced that it can be enjoyed multiple times. Re-watching episodes makes you appreciate the production team. The first season runs at a noticibly slower pace but once season 2 starts the show takes off into comedic genius. It's sad that not everyone appreciates this smart, off-beat humour but that's what makes this show a gem! (Favorite episode?: the one with the Archie ending... classic!)

I couldn't resist buying this series. As a Canadian living in small-town Saskatchewan we can relate to the humor in every episode. A great Canadian comedy!

When have I laughed so much on a comedy series? Sinfield? Nope. Cheers? Nope. Car 54 where are you? Close. It's been a long time. The casting of the actors is perfect. It is a clean show and a great example that you don't have to be vulgar to get a laugh. Much of the humor can be considered mild slapstick or sight gags, not everybody understands or can appreciate this form of humor. My Wife and I watched 5 in a row and I know not of any other sitcom I could do this.

This is the best TV sitcom ever made!!!!! It has good clean humour that my whole family can enjoy. Would seriously recommend it for anyone that wants a very humourous "family" show to watch.

This is one of those shows which somehow stays with you. Like Seinfeld it has, characters that are fully fleshed out. They are very recognizable and all are quirky and funny. They exist in a place that doesn't seem to have any bad stuff happening. It is always summer in Dog River. Everybody gets along and even when they don't you know they eventually will. It is a feel good show. I was sorry to see it finish its run on t.v. but like Seinfeld they did not want to cheapen the show so they stopped it. I order the set because I now have the opportunity to re-live the show when and where I want. I don't have to depend on the t.v.re-run schedule.
If you haven't seen the show order it you will not be disappointed. If you know the show, then what are you waiting for.

I have always loved corner gas, cant say a single bad thing about it. Great family comedy that you can watch over and over again. I was sad to learn that it was going off the air, but this dvd set, for a great price, can let me live in those great small town memories.

Corner Gas is a very humorous series taking place in Dog River, a fictitious small town community in rural Saskatchewan, Canada. It has no laugh track but is so well written, it doesn't need one. You will meet one of the grumpiest husband and wife characters in all of television -- Oscar and Emma--almost always in a foul mood. Oscar's favorite insult is 'jackass'. Each episode uses flashbacks inserted to cleverly connect characters thoughts and moods.

Paul Mather, an Edmonton product, is the producer and a major script writer.

This series is packed with lots of hilarity. A worthwhile addition to your DVD collection.
