The series is set in the fictional town of Dog River Saskatchewan, and focuses on the life (or lack thereof) of gas station owner Brent LeRoy, coffee shop proprietor Lacey Burrows and the folks who populate the area. Dog River is a nice town, but far from the quaint and idyllic little burgs we're used to seeing on TV. It isn't Pleasantville and it's definitely not Mayberry. It's a little town with a definite edge where not much happens and people like it that way. But invariably, when things do change, just a little, all hell breaks loose. Fantastic show and some of the best female characters on TV! Nancy Richardson slyly steals all scenes she is in; Janet Wright's Emma manages to be menacing and somehow still charming; Constable Karen provides goofy Saskatchewan-style surfer-girl law enforcement.Try it. It'll grow on you. Wish we had TV this good in the States.

You have to get these DVDs so you can watch the episodes one after another. This show is too funny to turn off. The characters are all fantastic, especially Oscar. I have watched these episodes over and over and they are always just as funny as they were the first time. I give Corner Gas Season two 20 out of 10.
