Product Description

Product Description

Ross et al Corporate Finance, Fifth Canadian Edition, meets the needs of the introductory corporate finance course at the MBA level, or the introductory course that wants very comprehensive coverage. The text emphasizes the modern fundamentals of the theory of finance while providing contemporary examples to make the theory come to life. Corporate finance is presented as the working of a small number of integrated and powerful intuitions rather than a collection of unrelated topics. The Ross text develops the central concepts of modern finance: arbitrage, net present value, efficient markets, agency theory, options, and the trade-off between risk and return, and uses them to explain corporate finance with a balance of theory and application. This well respected author team is known for a clear and accessible presentation of material that makes this text an excellent teaching resource.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad book in Finance forever, Nov 25 2008
This review is from: Corporate Finance, 5th Cdn edition (Hardcover)
The authors of the book are from big universities, their book is also big, but not big work on it

1. Too wordy
2. Not organized.
3. Bad examples and bad solutions for examples(stupid way)
4. Lack of details
5. The end chapter exercises are absolutely different with the text
6. You MUST buy the Solution manual in order to understand what the text book about.
7. The Solution book is sometime wrong...

I have read many Coporate Finance books. This book is the worse book forever....

5.0 out of 5 stars Clear and Formal approach to Finance, Aug 13 2009
By

This review is from: Corporate Finance, 5th Cdn edition (Hardcover)
I liked the approach that this took: very formal, academic, mathematical with very clear summaries of all important statements and formulae at the end of every chapter. Had quite a few interesting and sometimes amusing anecdotes. I had access to the solutions as part of the course for which this was the recommended text. One of the better textbooks I've used, and one that I will keep as a reference.
