Book Description

August 2001 Janette Oke's Animal Friends 1st Chapter Books
Mark and Timmie longed for a pet of their own. They loved dogs, and cats, and gerbils. They loved rabbits, and ponies, and guinea pigs. But they loved carrier pigeons most of all. Their landlord loved pigeons, too. He had a whole loft of them, but he said "absolutely no pets" when he rented the small house to the boys' mother. So they could only watch and dream. What would it be like to have 'homers' of their very own?

5.0 out of 5 stars Short but Great May 23 2008
By Animal Lover - Published on Amazon.com
When I read this book, since it was so short, I expected an immature book. After reading it, I realized that good things really do come in small packages. This book may have only taken me about 10 minutes to read, but it was very heartwarming and memorable. A must read for all animal lovers!
5.0 out of 5 stars Very good Book! July 28 2013

I enjoyed it even if it was a child's book. It was fast reading, and I was interested in learning about the birds. I liked the way she told both sides of the story--the birds and the boys. I would recommend it for all ages.
