Product Description

From the Back Cover

By
For those interested in starting or continuing a study in semiotics this has to be your first stop. Sending the European world into the science of signs, Saussure develops the first tools of semiotics by giving this new science of signs the same status as linguistics. Applying rules and terminology of linguistics, Saussure explains the sign and its function in the world. A must read for all those interested in the later works of Barthes, Levy-Strauss and so on and so on.
