Great book if you want to try new types of creme brulée. I bought this book because I thought that the internet only had the same recipes. I gave me new ideas

5.0 out of 5 stars I never liked Creme Brulee til now! Really! June 21 2011
By Chelsea - Published on
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
This book was originally given to me as a gift with a torch. I had never really liked Creme Brulee before but I tried the basic vanilla bean creme brulee in the book and I was hooked. The recipe calls for real vanilla beans and it just delish. The recipes are easy to follow. There are quite a few savory creme brulees that I haven't tried but look good. This book would be a great gift or great for personal use. My mom gave me the book and then she wanted a copy for herself so I gave her a copy! I would recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Creme Brulee is So Easy Oct. 19 2012
By Bohemian Bon Vivant - Published on
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
No one ever seems to have a clue how easy creme brulee is to make, and guests are always impressed. If you want to go beyond the basics this is a great book to add to your library, along with Elegantly Easy Creme Brulee: & Other Custard Desserts. I never liked the results I got caramelizing the sugar under a broiler (plus it takes longer and heats the custard underneath as a result), so I highly recommend this torch BonJour Creme Brulee Chef's Professional Culinary Torch with Fuel Gauge. It seems reasonably priced and better made than even others made by the same company (BonJour).

If you just want a good basic creme brulee recipe you can find that on the Net at If you want variations and to keep it interesting over time for your guests, I highly recommend these two books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yummy Sept. 27 2010
By Abby Allan - Published on

I have made 2 different Brulee's from this cookbook so far. My sister is hounding me to borrow it, I might make her wait a little longer. The two that I made were yummy. I have experience with Creme Brulee's, so the recipes were easy to follow.

4.0 out of 5 stars I am buying myself a copy July 19 2013
By Alix - Published on
I would have given this book 5 stars, however I gave it as a gift so was unable to test the recipes. It was easy to read with ingredients that were simple and accessible via any grocery store. It's a small book with beautiful pictures and creative recipes. The savory section held particular interest for me simply because I have yet to make a savory crème brûlée despite it being my own go to dessert for years. I will certainly be purchasing this for myself.
