The Drop Shape Cool Mist Humidifier was a finalist in the 2011 International Housewares Design Awards. Thanks to its fun, contemporary design and whisper-quiet operation, it is discreet enough to be left out when company visits.
Straightforward, Whisper-Quiet Operation
Not only are Crane humidifiers stylish, but they are also easy to use and include a built-in auto-shut-off feature that engages when the water tank is empty to ensure safety. The whisper-quiet operation helps provide for a good night sleep for everyone.
Operating the Crane Drop Shape Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier requires only a few easy steps. Simply remove the water tank from the unit, unscrew the tank cap, and fill the water tank under a water faucet. Securely replace the tank cap, making sure the rubber cap seal is in place, and place the water tank back onto the unit. Place the humidifier on an elevated surface and set it to a medium output setting for comfortable room humidification.
Important Tips
If you have a lot of minerals in your tap water, it is recommended to use distilled water, filtered water, or a Crane demineralization filter (HS-3161). Place humidifier on an elevated surface and not on carpet, towel, or sensitive wood furniture.
Cleaning and Storage
Frequently cleaning your humidifier is very important. Crane recommends emptying the water in the basin daily, making sure you pour away from the fan air-outlet. Disinfect the water basin and tank weekly by using a white vinegar and fresh water solution, let sit for 30 minutes, then rinse. For convenience, the Crane Descaler solution HS-1933 is also available. It is important to disinfect and dry completely before storage.

Although we have an in furnace humidifier we find that once it gets cold, our house dries out quickly. We bought the cool mist humidifier for our bedroom so we wouldn't wake up with dry sinuses every morning. This humidifier quietly and quickly dispenses a considerable quantity of moisture into the air. It has an adjustable vaporization rate. The tank is easy to fill, no mess, no fuss and holds at least 4 litres of water. It is attractive so you don't mind it sitting on the furniture. It has made a great difference to our sleeping, and waking up refreshed. We also bought the filter and use filtered water. After a month there is no sign of calcification or mineral build up. Highly recommended!

I bought the Crane to deal with three complaints about my previous humidifier:1. The room got too hot because of the hot mist; 2. The room did not get enough humidity; 3. The humidifier was a chore to clean, and the water quickly got full of mold. I am using the Crane in a small bedroom, and have placed it on a bookshelf to avoid having too much humidity concentrated on the hardwood floor. Findings: - The Crane does not impact the temperature in the room. - It puts out enough humidity to get up to desired amounts of humidity (45% - 50%). - It is simple to clean, once a week, with vinegar and water, and it is not very dirty when I do clean it (I don't see mold, I just see brown sediment, which looks like Iron). Added benefits: - The output control switch is great - The cool mist is enjoyable - There are no annoying and expensive filters to change Drawbacks: - The fan is a little loud, but I have it close to the bed, so I am more likely to hear it. (The bookshelf I have it on may also be amplifying the sound.) I have gotten used to it, and the gurgling water sounds are soothing. - Filling can be awkward as the top of the container is rounded -- I turn it upside down on an empty pot, which keeps it steady while I fill. Additional Information: I am running the humidifier about 24 hours a day, in a mid-range setting, usually higher at night and lower during the day. I refill the water a maximum of twice a day, and that is at a high setting. I have had it for approximately one month. Conclusion: Go for it! (Least hassle of any humidifier I've had!)

My wife and I purchased one originally for our infant son's room. We liked that it was quiet and could be easily adjusted to control the level of mist and ended up buying a second one months later for our own room. It's a no-frills, one-trick pony that does what it's designed to do - humidify a room. It is much easier to clean than a previous small room humidifier we owned.
