Hidden messages everywhere.,
By christine (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Crank (Paperback)
This book holds the key of the biggest mystery, what drugs can do to YOU. Crank(crystal meth), is the bigest adictation of a girl who flirts with death. A sad yet harmonious story written in verses, made me hold onto it until i finished it, which meant many many hours. Everyword we read, there contains a secret message that awes our lack of intellgence in that area. Beautiful as the words go, strange as the mood seems, this is a book that CANNOT be left alone. The dark simplicity of it will make everyone cry in displease of having it end. I loved this story. This is everything I ever wanted to read. the best teen novel I've ever read.

Very good book,

When I got this book and opened the first page I was shocked to see that it was written as a poem. I worried that I wouldn't like this style of writing but decided to give it a try. I sure am glad I did as I was unable to put this book down once I started reading. The story is nothing new...a girl gets hooked on drugs and her life takes a downward spiral..ending with the birth of a baby. It is the way it is written, however, that makes this a magical book. I highly recommend this book as long as you have the time to finish it once you start it.

Amazing,

This review is from: Crank (Paperback)
Frankly, the 'girl-addicted-to-hardcore-drugs-needs-her-desperate-struggle' is a really popular and over-done theme in teen contemporary books right now, but Crank was different. It flirts with this poetic version that makes everything much more interesting. Truthfully, I read this book in class and missed a very important lesson it was that good. It's also a book I feel I will read again in the future, definetly worth buying.
