1.0 out of 5 stars Very persnickety Wii Solitaire Mar 14 2011
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
Maybe I just haven't figured out the settings on this, but I thought I would get some exercise doing it. I have solitaire on my iphone and it is very quick and addictive....only exercises my fingers. I thought that if I stood with this Wii Solitaire, that I could do the same thing and at least get a little more exercise. However, it is very persnickety about how the card is placed, or it won't stay. So it is not fun....it is just a lot of work. Most disappointing!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wii Solitaire & Mahjong Feb 9 2010

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Bought this game for my parents since they recently discovered that they liked the original game.

Not the gameplay that they were used to since this turned out to be a "solitaire" version of Mahjong - not the multi-player style of real Mahjong with tiles. I thought that the "Solitaire" in the game title only referred to the card play portion of the software so this came as a slight disappointment.

Nevertheless the game is realaxing fun and the interface is not at all difficult for my senior aged parents to navigate and control. The graphics are good enough for what they are being used for although the music is a bit loud in the original settings and can be a bit annoying unless you turn it down. I found that the game even grew on me as an alternative to the faster paced gaming that I'm used to.

Perhaps, in future, Nintendo will put out a standard multiplayer Mahjong game for the Wii. (Pease please?!!)

Hope this helps.

1.0 out of 5 stars Graphics; Features Lacking July 15 2009

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I love these two games and thought they would be nice on the big screen instead of playing on my computer. The graphics are so simplistic as to be hard to read. Mah-Jong allows you to zoom in so that you can actually see the tiles, but then you can't see the whole stack. Solitaire doesn't allow a zoom, and the cards are too small to easily read (even though they don't use the entire screen). I have to squint to see if it's a 6 or an 8.

Basic features on computer versions of these games are missing like:
* Ability to retry the same mah-jong game when you realize you can't win
* Automatic Ace placement in solitaire (you must tediously go through every last card to receive the lame congratulations).
* Hints; tips when you get stuck.
* Choice of easier to view tiles in Mah-Jong.
* Lots of choices but only one version of important Solitaire families like Spider, Free Cell or Yukon.
* Double click sometimes moves cards in solitare, sometimes not
* Cards are very hard to place in Solitare
And the cursor for some reason has little sparkly things swirling around it that'll just drive you nuts after awhile.

This could have been a really nice game, but ultimately disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars great game, user friendly Mar 13 2009

I had mahjong and solitaire on the computer.
My mom really like playing the game on the computer.
She had back surgery and now finds it uncomfortable to sit on the chair for the computer.
I bought this so she could play the game sitting comfortably in front of the tv.
It works out really well. There are several games for both solitaire and mahjong.
You can control the background you want to see and the volume of the music that is played. There are several choices for the type of music you want to hear.
The numbers and figures are larger, depending on resolution of your tv.
Makes it easier for those that may not see very well.
All in all a great game and I am glad I purchased it.

I'm a big fan of both games. I'm addicted to Mahjong and this version has the tilting table that I haven't had in other versions. The music is the usual, the graphics nice, tiles are large, etc. No complaints. The challenge is getting used to Wii controller for clicking on the tiles.

I haven't played the cards as much but again, I found no complaints. Alot of options.

Worth the money!!
