A Gem,

I only watched this movie because Jenny McCarthy is in it (she is truly a comic genius) and Chris Eigeman (who is also hilarious). I had heard absolutely nothing about it, so I figured it was a bad, straight-to-video rom-com. Of course, the dvd packaging doesn't help at all either. Why is there a dog on the cover? There is no dog in the movie! The worst thing about this movie is the marketing. Somebody screwed up big time because this little treasure is fantastic. It's hilarious, mainly because the two leads have great chemistry together. McCarthy has wonderful comedic timing (she is the queen of physical comedy) and Eigeman is endearingly sarcastic and sardonic. It's a bit contrived in terms of the 'coincidences' that undergird the movie--but hey, it's a romantic comedy after all. In terms of the genre, this is definitely one of the better ones I have seen and it's a tragedy that it was marketed so poorly because I think it could have been a hit.

This might be considered a romantic comedy by a guy. But from a girl's perspective, it was horrible, from beginning to end. Their attraction is not believable and does not have a natural progression, the movie was crude and frankly not funny. I bought it before watching it and I regret it, even though I got it on sale for 10$. Really not worth it.

I had very low expectations going into this movie, as it had Jenny McCarthy in it, but it was a nice surprise. What a great date move! Rented it on a friends recommendation and bought it the next day. It is a must for your movie collection. Consider Crazy Little Things as the romantic comedy version of Office Space.
