With the economy in the dumps and struggling to survive, I often treat myself with a visit to Amazon. It's my way of shopping with out actually going anywhere. (gas prices!) I can browse with out the pressure of purchase. Came across Brian Haggard, Author of Crazy Quilted Memories. At first sight of the cover it intrigued me. Loving vintage and the thought provoking images of the past, it pulled me in. Viewing the pages on Amazon, it was better than good. It immediately inspired my emotions and it was a purchase I felt was a good investment.
It did not disappoint. His easy way of writting instructions and the bit of personal information makes it feel like he's an instant friend. Plenty of beauitful photographes and drawings detailing stitching & embellishments.
All his work looks as if it stepped right out of the past. His free thinking way of design and 'no pressure' manner is refreshing.
If you love vintage and/or want to make fabric art pieces to hand down for future generations, this book will inspire you to do so.
I can't wait to get started on my first inspired Brian Haggard (vintage looking) quilt! Only one bit of info left out...where to purchase Brian's Aging Mist?!

I do not take recommending things lightly. (And do not review items I don't like) Not everyone has the same taste... but I have now made this my official 'go to' book. Newbie quilters/fabric artist/sewers and/or people that enjoy making an art piece from cloth & love vintage, can now feel pressureless. (hope that's a real word) If Brian teaches his class's as well as he has written this book....he will be inspiring many with creativity... & doing so for a long time. He is a real inspiration Angel. The pressure is on for the next book, I'm sure!
