4.5 stars - Welcome to the nineties,
By
This review is from: Crazy World (Audio CD)
Crazy World (1991.) Scorpions' eleventh album. When the eighties ended and the nineties began, musical trends quickly began changing. This change in the dominant musical styles pretty much killed classic metal. Fortunately though, the Scorpions were one of the few bands that managed to endure this period. Although their popularity wasn't anywhere near what it was back in the eighties, they were still a strong band. And in 1991, the band released the Crazy World album - their first studio album of the new decade. Read on for my review of this album. Rather obviously, the Scorpions took a hit in popularity with the turn of the decade - as did any classic metal act that wasn't killed outright by the radical changes in the dominant musical stylings. But still, the band endured, and managed to keep their classic metal stylings as fresh as ever. Tease Me Please Me and Don't Believe Her would go on to become some of the band's biggest and best hits of the nineties. The band even serves up an onslaught of classic heavy metal styled tunes that made fans love them so much to begin with, back in the day. Likewise, although the band is best known for their hard rockers and very few of their ballads ever became large hits, two of the tracks featured here, which are ballads, would go on to become some of the band's most popular works ever - Wind Of Change, and Send Me An Angel (not the Real Life song!) These are some of the best ballads the band has ever recorded - solid proof that the band is far from done making music. All in all, this is an excellent album. It's not quite up to the quality of most of their seventies or eighties material, but it still rocks. Overall, this is a very good album. If you're a Scorpions fan, this is yet another one of their released I recommend adding to your collection. Once again, the band didn't fail to please their fans. Like all of their releases, you must hear this one to fully appreciate it.

Absolutely amazing,

This is likely the best CD I have ever listened to - and this is coming from someone who is not a big fan of metal. The first time I heard Crazy World I thought it was all right. It had Wind of Change on it and that was the reason I bought it. After listening to it a few more times I quickly realized that absolutely every single song was just unbelievable. Restless Nights, Hit Between the Eyes and so many others just draw you in. I would HIGHLY recomment this album.
