They step onto the stage of London's Royal Albert Hall: Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, and Eric Clapton. The capacity crowd, which includes Sean Penn and Jude Law, stands to greet them. Thirty-seven years after their farewell concert, the famously fiery Cream did the unthinkable--they reunited. This double-disc collection (and accompanying CD set) captures highlights from the historic four-day engagement, beginning with a buoyant "I'm So Glad" and ending with a triumphant "Sunshine of Your Love." It would be churlish to suggest that Cream appears exactly as they did in the 1960s (Bruce looks a little frail), but the legendary power trio still has the goods. Bruce is still the essence of soul (a particularly rich vocal on "Politician"), while Baker is as irrepressible as ever (a rare vocal on "Pressed Rat and Warthog," percussive tour-de-force "Toad"). Then there's Clapton, who remains as much a master of the guitar as of understatement. "Thanks for waiting all these years," he quips after a slow-burning "Outside Woman Blues," then adds, "We're going to do every song we know." The track listing is, indeed, generous, despite the absence of such Cream classics as "I Feel Free," "Strange Brew," and "Tales of Brave Ulysses." All told, there are 22 songs plus three alternate takes--and not a bad one in the bunch. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

5.0 out of 5 stars EMOTION ! EMOTION! EMOTION! Oct 8 2011
Format:Blu-ray
If i had to pick 5 dvds that i would want on a desert island this would be one them .If i had to pick 3,this would be one of them. Do you know what i mean now.Money not thrown away especially now a days.Tha'ts Telling the Truth.
This is a mature ,professional, emotional, spontanious performance on dvd . Eric,Jack and Ginger are so tight and flawless . The sound and visuals are excelent.Just as it was in the Eric and Steve Winwood Blue Ray.
To finally have it on Blue-Ray is way overdue.Should have been realesed long time ago. This is what us fans really want. Can't the companies get that in their heads.
Sorry to say Record Companies are also playig a game .They want us to buy something twice.First the regular dvd then the Blue Ray. Eric and Wynton Marsalis was just released recently and no Blue -Ray .Do we have to wait 2 years for that .Fact being record companies are greedy and make you pay for something twice.
Eric is a true legend today forever and always. All his performances are filmed now at all his concerts .Example Eric and Allman Brothers ,Eric and Jeff Beck .These are real jems in the waiting. How much longer do we have to wait for those shows ? I wonder sometime.
You will Enjoy - Forever!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars You gotta hand it to em, I'm impressed. Oct 22 2005
Format:DVD
I couldn't wait to put it on and watch it.I kinda thought the reunion would happen one day. What a treat. It's more bluesy than I remember, but its great and the guys are true pros. The sound is great and picture quality is superb. She's a keeper. They look a little tense up there playing , man Ginger looks really old, he looks like he's got lots hard of miles on em . I hope they burried the hatchet and get along with each other and they keep playing more concerts. Imagine if they came out with some new material and it was awsome?Santana did it. Only time will tell I guess. You gotta love em.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Concert! Feb 13 2013
Format:Blu-ray|Amazon Verified Purchase
Never did get to see Cream back in the 60s so this disc was the next best thing. Amazing how good they sound together after all those years apart. Ginger Baker's driving beats, Jack Bruce brooding and powerful voice and of course the master himself, Eric Clapton and his soaring riffs.

A must buy for fans of the band or for those who want to see one of the greates power bands of any era!
