This is the most quilting fun I've ever had. I got the book on Friday and spent many hours in my sewing room this weekend just playing. And it really was playing because there were no rules, there was no goal as to how anything was supposed to look, and I worked only with fabrics I like. It really pays to examine the finished quilts in the book and get a sense of which style appeals most, if you want to use any as a reference.

I've already completed a quilt top using the techniques in this book. Easy to follow instructions and photographs show you how to make these beautiful one-of-a-kind quilts that look a lot more complicated than they are.

I loved this book. It allows for spontaneous design and a great amount of risk taking. The author gives clear instructions to start the creative process and lets you relax in the process. There are no rules to abide by other than to see "what if" by slashing squares, adding strips, and slashing them again. No planning is required. This technique would be best used by an experienced quilter who either wants to get out of the box, or has never been in one. Fun.
