Book Description

A master of yoga collaborates with an American-trained psychologist in presenting this practical, holistic perspective on the role of emotions in the development of consciousness. They explain how we can all expand our consciousness from a state of conflict, confusion, and emotionalism to the experience of greater joy and harmony. Many facets of this developmental process are described, along with methods that lead to emotional maturity and expanded consciousness.

5.0 out of 5 stars Proper use of emotions, Oct 25 2007

This review is from: Creative Use of Emotion (Paperback)
This is the first title that I have ever read from Swami Rama(who was a trained physician in his native land in India and has degrees from other institutions such as Oxford) and his disciple Swami Ajaya who is American trained psychotherapist. One thing to note is that this book comes from more of a Eastern point of view and represents Swami Rama's education from the Himilayian Masters more than any type of textbook western education. In the book which I believe was mostly written by his disciple a study of man's psychology is presented from the standpoint of Yoga. In his book he contradicts many of the foundational beliefs of western psychology, which I believe is false anyway. The great benefit in reading this book is that it give a deeper more dynamic view of Man and his/her emotions than the western paradigm. Highly recommeded.
