Dark Horse Comics presents "CREEPY ARCHIVES VOL.1 HC" [Hardcover], Now it all comes back to me. I was already collecting 'Famous Monsters of Filmland' magazines, saw the ads of coming attractions. A new title on the horizon 'Creepy Magazine' gathered some of the best on their debut outing - Jim Warren (publisher), Russ Jones (editor), Archie Goodwin, Joe Orlando (story ideas), Ben Oda (lettering), many of the previous EC Comics team brought their talents to the forefront with embellisher's such as - Reed Crandall, Jack Davis, George Evans, Frank Frazetta, Roy Krenkel, Bob Lubbers, Gray Morrow, Joe Orlando, Alex Toth, Maurice Whitman, Al McWilliams, Al Williamson, and Angelo Torres, illustrations and storyline within 6 - 8 pages in length for your perverted enjoyment.
Remember when our host Uncle Creepy came into the lives of all the comic book fans, not since ECs horror years had we been this excited. This first installment brings on vampires, werewolves and zombies - just the perfect ingredients for scaring the pants off of you, all the time craving for more and the next issues to follow.
Nothing like this was on the newsstands to compete, Jim Warren and his staff had outdone themselves, as the pages of the first five stories will attest, but not to worry it even gets better in the coming issues. Dark Horse has maintained the magazines size as to the original with perfection, left in the original ads and letters for your reading pleasure.

Special footnote: -- The greatest comic artists in the world bring you...tales of suspense, horror, mystery, the unknown and the weird. As mentioned by several other reviewers. The reproductions are outstanding, the artwork and stories are at the top of their game. The Frazetta covers are mesmerizing - Now that Dark Horse has our attention, open the doors and let the issues flow, in chronological order, please!
In closing - It is only natural to associate 'Creepy' with EC Comic group, definitely feel the artwork is better than EC's, with Creepy's own Gray Morrow, Angelo Torres and Bob Lubbers - What is considerably more important is the fact that the stories are in black and white, allowing an amount of shading undreamed of with colors, Frank Frazetta, Joe Orlando and Gray Morrow take full advantage and give class to their work...Here's to the success of Dark Horse and Creepy, may they keep the fans in complete horror!
