Another winner from Victoria Laurie!!!!, Sep 7 2007

This is the best of the series - and from the 'preview' at the end for the next installment, it just keeps getting better. Ms. Laurie is hitting her stride, and it's been a lot of fun to see!
Her character, Abby Cooper, is a psychic around the Detroit area, and she has this gorgeous hunk of a boyfriend Dutch, who is FBI - Abby is recuperating from her gunshot wound at Dutch's house - She is upset her 'Crew' (her guides on the Other Side who help her psychically) didn't warn her that she was going to be shot. She shuts down and temporarily stops her career - But in a great move, Dutch asks for her help in some cases he is working on - That is a huge move for Dutch - at first he was skeptical - Great to see him progress as well - Abby goes undercover to find clues to unravel Dutch's case - dangerous work - and exciting!
This entry is a wonderful progression of characters - every one of them including pets! You can tell Ms. Laurie is a pet lover - and that is a big plus in my book.
One of the things I like about this series is that Ms. Laurie shows us the process a psychic takes to get 'in the zone' - it is fascinating! It accurately depicts the psychic experience -
Ms. Laurie is a gifted psychic and her website is great - Her writing style is smooth and reading it is like being next to her and hearing her telling you this story -
If you are a mystery fan, metaphysical fan, etc. this is a great addition to your collection -
Keep 'em coming, Victoria!

You gotta love Abby, Sep 12 2007

Abby is back on her feet after(stop here if you haven't read Killer Insight) being shot. But she is still a little unsure at times if she wants to go back to work, but Dutch convinces her to do so. For the past 3 months she;s lived with him and things are going smoothly with them. Like always Abby has agreed to assist Dutch on some cold cases. One of which connects to murder of Milo's old partner. Furthermore Candice moves her new PI business into Abby's suite and together they take on a case that is going to lead to big trouble. Candice is convinced that the man who murdered Milo's old partner is innocent and that there is some shady business surrounding the whole case since the man is up for parole. Danger follows Abby and Candice on the case like an unwanted shadow. At every turn comes a dangerous obstacle.
I don't want to give away too much of the excitment so all I can say is a LOT of good stuff happens that will have you gripping the spine. It all leads up to a charming surprise at the end which I was able to guess at based on two subtle hints that are dropped into the conversations, so pay close attention and you might be able to guess it too!! Overall a wonderful read and looking forward to next year's Death Perception, at least during the wait there's Demons are a Ghoul's Best Friend.

Sweethot - You gotta love Dutch, Sep 3 2007

Book #5 in the Psychic Eye Mystery. I actually liked this one better than the last - Killer Insight. As Abby recovers from her gunshot wounds in the last book she has moved into Dutchs' home much to the chigrin of Virgil the cat. As she forces herself to move on and challenge the post tramatic stress of her last case, Abby and Candice team up together to work on a new investigation which runs smack dab into an adventure that even Dutch has a hard time getting her out of.
