Crossdressing With Dignity, now in its second edition, continues where Dr. Peggy Rudd's first book, My Husband Wears My Clothes, ended. The crossdresser frequently experiences many feelings of guilt because of his/her love of the feminine or masculine. Am I gay? Do I want to become a woman or a man? These are many of the questions asked by the crossdresser as well as the significant people in his/her life. Is it possible to cross gender lines imposed by society and maintain a sense of dignity and self-worth. This book may provide answers to many of the questions and concerns of crossdressers. The end result should be a personal growth which leads to self-fulfillment and acceptance.

As a helping professional and the wife of a man "who crosses gender lines", my goal in writing this book was to address the emotions that surface when men transcend gender lines. I believe this book will help crossdressers overcome the emotions of guilt, fear, denial, hostility, and loneliness. As crossdressers move forward to inner peace and a sense of personal dignity, they will realize richer and more complete lives.
Since this book represents the collective input from 852 crossdressers worldwide, a wide spectrum of ideas, theories and philosophies is presented. It would be impossible for any reader to accept such a diversity of opinions at face value. Each reader must approach the content of this book with an open mind and use it as a catalyst for introspection. It is my desire that reading this book will help crossdressers in the process of self-awareness and self-acceptance. For the non- crossdresser, there may be a heightened acceptance of the phenomenon of crossdressing. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
About the Author
Peggy J. Rudd, Ed.D received her Doctoral Degree from the University of Houston in Cultural Studies and Psychology. She has written four books on the ever emerging topic of men and women who cross gender lines. She serves on the Board of Directors of Tri-Ess (the international organization of crossdressers and their significant others), and is the Director of the Spouses and Partners International Conference for Education (SPICE). She has conducted numerous workshops and seminars on the topic of transgendered relationships and has received many honors including the International Foundation for Gender Education Trinity Award and the Tri-Ess Leader Servant Award.
