Product Description

A Chance Meeting... Big sister, provider and.....for as long as she could remember Joy Simmons had only used those two words to describe herself and her less than exciting existence. She wanted more out her life. What she wouldn't give for a man to make her heart race, but she didn't have time for any of that until he came along. ...changes two lives! Logan Scott never imaged when he went to the hospital for a gunshot wound he would meet her. A woman with dark soulful eyes who possessed a killer body that made him forget every other thought in his mind. He was going to do everything to stroke the intense attraction he felt between them. Yet, it isn't going to be as easy as he thought. Something big is standing in his way. However, he isn't about to give up or let Joy go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Crossing the Railroad, July 10 2009
By R. A Rippy "rarippy" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Crossing the Railroad (Paperback)
This book has 2 stories in one. It starts with the past for Joy Simmons and her sister and then takes you into the present. Joy is a nurse and is raising her baby sister Dymond. She meets a cop, Logan Scott in the hospital and he is instantly attracted to her and she to him. She has not had time in the past to date because she was working hard and paying for her sister's schooling in a private school. When Dymond shows up out of the blue and tells Joy that she wants to finish her last year at school locally, Joy knows something is up. Dymond has been kicked out of school for having a affair with one of the dean's sons and is kicked out of school. Joy gives in and allows Dymond to enroll in school at home. Joy finally agrees to go out with Logan and his partner who has had designs on him gets mad and decides to get Joy out of his life. In the meantime her sister Dymond is upset with Joy dating Logan because she is afraid that she will lose her to him and he will break her heart like Dymond's dad did to their Mom she feels in her mind. She starts rebelling and ends up messing with the guy that shot Logan and his partner Marcus that Logan is looking for. Plus her half-sister Haley Richardson that she knew nothing about by her Dad with his wife is out to kill her because in her mind she is the reason that her Mom killed herself when she was thirteen and caused her to end up in foster care. I won't be the spoiler and tell the whole story but this book is a must read. The storyline is full of drama, romance, jealousy and a lot of a lot of love too.

Slow and boring it has been a long time since Marie has written a real love story.

3.0 out of 5 stars Logan and Joy, Jan 31 2011
By E. Johnson "Know what I like" - Published on Amazon.com
Took me a while to finally break down and buy this one. First, Joy mom and Dymond's future Pop going at it in his wife's bed--Yuck! Story just seem all over the place with the added characters: Luther, Ridge, Haley, Peggy. For a cop Logan came across as too emotional for me, but at least with Dymond he was calmer. Logan should have recognized the signs that his partner was obsessed with him and for a cop on his A game, he should have switched partners. I felt like Joy was two different characters: her nurse persona and then it was if I was reading about someone else when she was with Logan. Dymond was 20-21, but her antics were childless, character obnoxious, and vain--it seemed as though Joy turned a blind eye to her lack of morals and even compared notes. Joy going to tell Ridge it's over between him and Dymond, but I missed the part where they were even involved.
