Strikingly retro in brushed stainless-steel with black-plastic accents, this 12-cup coffeemaker includes Cuisinart's best brewing technology and premium features for ease and flexibility. The digital clock/timer is programmable for automatically brewing "wake-up" coffee at a selected time and for turning off the warming plate up to four hours in advance. Removing the glass carafe from the warming plate automatically pauses the brewing process for a quick pour, and the warming plate's temperature can be adjusted. For maximum flavor, the machine can be set to brew one to four 5-ounce cups or five to twelve cups, and it includes a charcoal water filter. For convenience, a permanent Gold Tone filter eliminates messy paper filters and an indicator-light shows when decalcification is needed. The coffeemaker measures 14-1/4 inches high, 8 inches wide, and 10-3/4 inches deep (including carafe handle) and carries a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Retro-style coffee maker complements any style kitchen. Fully programmable, the coffee maker features a user-friendly digital clock and the 24-hour brew programming offers freshly brewed coffee, day or night. It also has a programmable auto shutoff (0 - 4 hours) for worry-free use. An audible beep advises when brewing is complete. The Brew Pause feature lets you pour a cup of coffee before brewing has finished, and a 1-4 cup setting allows you to brew only a cup or two without altering the flavor of the brew. The custom heat control allows you to adjust the heater plate to one of three settings to control the after-brewing temperature of your coffee. The 12-cup carafe features an ergonomic handle, dripless spout, and a knuckle guard to prevent burned knuckles. A charcoal water filter helps produce great tasting coffee by removing impurities. An indicator light signals when its time to clean your coffeemaker; simply add a vinegar and water solution and the coffeemaker cycles it through to remove calcium buildup. Includes a gold tone filter, #4 paper coffee filter starter kit, and a coffee grounds scoop.

I've had this coffee maker for almost 2 years and liked it due to its ease of use. However 2 days ago, it suddenly started leaking badly from the bottom when filled with water. Researching the internet indicates this is a fairly common problem. For the money, I'd expect this device to last me longer than a couple of years. Very frustrating. Makes me fearful of buying another cuisinart product.

This coffee maker is all that it said that it would be. The coffee is wonderful and the maker itself is very easy to use. The programmable settings work well and are fairly user friendly, I love the fact that you can control the heat of the element that keeps the coffee warm and the coffee itself ends up with a lovely flavor and is very hot (I can't stand warm coffee!!).

I was dumb enough to buy a second Cuisinart DCC-1200C Brew Central(TM) 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker. The first carafe leaked so badly I thought it was a defect. I tried getting a refund but to no avail. The second one is no better, the carafe leaks big time. Each time one makes coffee, condensation builds up on the lid and runs down the backside onto the counter; and it is no small amount. It makes a mess of the counter, not to mention the countless rags it takes to keep everything clean. I will never buy anything Cuisinart again.I am still looking for a leek-proof coffee maker.
