Pure masterpiece,

First I was not really sure which Apocalyptica album I should buy, but finally I choose to buy Cult. This was a really good choice! Every track are powerfull, full of little details that shows a great talent and each of them talk to your soul. Every tracks minus three have been written by Eicca Topinen and when you are listening to them you can see how much of a genius this man is. I highly recommand this album.

Break through,
This review is from: Cult (Audio CD)
It's true, each Apocalyptica album is better than the last but that doesn't mean you should just go out and buy their newest album cause this is one to have. This is the break through album in my opinion. They shed the covers (except 3, two being metallica) and unleash their creativity and skills in an amazing form. "Path", "Pray!", "Hyperventilation", "Kaamos" and the rest are all awesome tracks. "Hall of the mountain king" is a great cover. They also add tracks with subtle (compared to later albums) drums and double-bass. This album is also the loss of Antero Manninen but the aquisition of Perttu Kivilaakso whom will later add his creative genius to the group. This album is awesome! I highly recommend this album, more than inquistion symphony and plays metallica by four cellos. Although, I'd say get them all!

Feel as if you never have nor ever will again,

I have not been subjected to that much heavy metal meets classical music, but I must say that it is possibly the most thought provoking and moving music I have ever heard. Apocalyptica has a great range of emotion within their songs. Even as many of the songs are quite heavy and harsh, they hold within them a bluntness and deepness, for lack of a better word, that conjures up thoughts and feelings which I find to be what real music is all about. Although, many songs are "heavy," they do tell a story, each one a separate story. They are not "harsh" as in bad or uneasy to listen to... they are direct songs that get to the real emotion that may be within the people who are playing the instruments and also within those who listen to this music. If you are the kind of person who likes rock, metal, classical music, all three or any other kind of music for that matter... get not only this album, but look into the collection of songs to find other pieces that will most likely bring up as much emotion and life into you that this album will once you hear it.
