arrows theme, this anthology of novellas from three of Arabesque's current authors use settings as exotic as Paris and Morocco and as ordinary as Washington, DC, and Los Angeles to focus on characters both cosmopolitan and down-to-earth. A trendy fashion designer and an overbearing "sheik" become involved in an adventurous mystery in Layle Giusto's "Maleka and the Sheik"; love-at-first-sight strikes the protagonists in a department store in Doris Johnson's especially well-done "A Passionate Moment"; and a single mom and an inveterate ladies' man find love in Jacquelin Thomas's "Heart to Heart." As with most anthologies, the quality varies greatly, and the thematic link is sometimes a bit of a stretch; nevertheless, fans of the Arabesque line should find something here that hits their romantic bull's-eye. The authors live in St. Albans and Laurelton, NY, and Rialto, CA.
